Labels must be in German for information required by the Regulation — this is not optional for consumer-facing text. The Responsible Person's EU address, nominal content, batch number, period-after-opening symbol and INCI list all appear on the pack. Getting the German-language artwork right the first time is what usually decides whether a launch date holds.

Minimum quantities and timeline
Minimum order quantities apply per single fragrance and single bottle model: perfume 1,000 units, cologne 1,000 in glass or 2,000 in plastic bottles, car fragrance 2,000, reed diffusers 1,000, room sprays 500, roll-on 1,000, scented candles 500. The quantity cannot be split. The quantity cannot be split; two fragrances or two bottle models mean two separate minimums, and the same applies to bottles: three different bottle models mean 1,000 units each (3,000 in total).
Production takes approximately 4–6 weeks after you approve the fragrance, bottle, packaging and label. Sampling happens before that window and depends mainly on your response time; custom fragrance development or a custom bottle mould extends the schedule. Registration in Germany runs in parallel and is handled by your side.
Frequently asked questions — Germany
Do I need a UFI code on the label?
Not for finished perfume. Cosmetic products in their finished state for the end user are outside the CLP Regulation (Article 1(5)(c) of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008), so no poison-centre notification or UFI is required for them. It becomes relevant if you also sell room sprays, reed diffusers or car fragrances that are classified as hazardous.
Does the Turkey–EU Customs Union reduce import duty?
For qualifying industrial goods moving with an A.TR movement certificate, customs duty is not applied within the customs union. Classification and eligibility are confirmed per shipment.
Must the label be in German?
Yes. Information required by Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 must appear in the language of the member state where the product is made available to the consumer.
